Barry teaches all genres of music for guitar, and welcomes beginners, improvers and experienced players looking for new ideas.

Lessons take place on weekdays, both daytime and evening, and cost £25 for a one hour lesson, based on booking a months lessons and paying in advance at the start of the month. Occasional lessons are charged at £28 per hour.

Barry has taught in colleges part-time for over 10 years, in schools and professionally from his home studio since 2005. He has a City and Guilds Teaching Certificate of Education, a Rockschool Music Educator's Diploma (Distinction), and a Masters Degree in Songwriting.

BARRY'S BACKGROUND

"After making a stage debut at the age of 18, performing and being involved in music has always been Barrys' passion.

From the late 70s, Barry has played in all sorts of bands, mainly based in the West Midlands, ranging from folk and country through to heavy rock and blues.
 
Barry has played live in venues of all sizes including The Cavern (Liverpool); Huntington Hall (Worcester); Tamworth Castle; Derby Assembly Rooms; Lichfield Guild and Civic halls; Tamworth Assembly Rooms; Solihull Library Theatre; and many festivals including Sidmouth; Alcester; Lichfield; Clitheroe; Bridgnorth; Cork (Ireland); Caversham; Birmingham Artsfest.

Barry's playing has always been about developing as many styles as possible and giving them his own slant. He likes to play heavy rock, blues, folk, country, pop, reggae, jazz, funk, punk and anything else he can turn his hand to!"
